MWM Schmieranlagen official partner of Step-Tec in Italy

Starting from 1st September 2015 MWM Schmieranlagen is the official representative and technological partner of the Swiss brand Step-Tec in Italy.

Step-Tec AG has been developing and producing high speed motor spindles (HSC High Speed Cutting), high performance motor spindles (HPM High Performance Machining) and precision sub assemblies for machine tools since 1995.
Since 2000 is part of the group GF (Georg Fischer). Today Step-Tec, with productive headquarters in Luterbach (Switzerland), builds some 70 different types of spindles in diameters ranging from 90 mm to 320 mm, covering a performance range of 1 to 82 kW, that deliver torques of up to 1200 Nm on its most powerful spindle. Both, induction motors with speeds up to 54.000 rpm and synchronous motors with highest power density and agility are available in our spindles depending on the application. The correct selection of a spindle’s speed, power and torque characteristic is essential for economic machining and an optimum working life.

Step-Tec has a broad experience in precision assembly, as well as in the design and layout of direct drive and bearing technology. Step-Tec facilities are equipped with all what is required for prototype manufacturing and testing. Step-Tec offers to participate as an engineering and manufacturing partner for sub-assemblies to the machine tool industry. Repair and service facilities are in Luterbach, Calgary for America (specified portfolio) and Changzhou for China (specified portfolio).

  • 65 % milling spindles
  • 5 % project specific turning spindles
  • 5 % project specific grinding spindles
  • 25 % proprietary machine tool sub assemblies for gear milling and honing

 

Moreover Step-Tec offers a range of services to its customers, among which:

  • SEP – Spindle Exchange Program: 24 hour dispatch time for specified exchange spindles
  • SFR – Spindle Factory Repair: 10 day turnover time for spindle repair (excl. transport)
  • SOR – Spindle On Site Repair: repair of minor damages at customer’s site through either the after sales service of the machine manufacturer or the maintenance personnel of the machine operating company. The Step Tec Service Academy offers efficient trainings for after sales service personnel of the machine manufacturer or the endusers maintenance staff.
